In our house, this is one of our favorite recipes. I love the taste of broccoli and beef together and this is what I used to order all the time when we’d go out to a restaurant and eat. But now that we have this dish and recipe to use in our slow cooker, I don’t really see a need to have it created by anyone else ever again.
The only major change that I think I would make to this is that I make mine super spicy. The more heat the better!
Slow Cooker Broccoli and Beef
This slow cooker recipe is one of those that is perfect for a weekend at home. The smells that are going to start coming out of your slow cooker are going to have your tummy ready to eat the moment it gets done.

Ingredients needed for slow cooker broccoli and beef
- 1 1/2 – 2 lb. sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup sodium soy sauce
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 4-5 green onions, diced (save some to the side for garnishment)
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 cups broccoli
- sesame seeds, for garnishment
How to make slow cooker beef and broccoli
In a large slow cooker, add steak.
In a medium-sized bowl, add beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and green onions.
Cover and cook on low until beef is tender and cooked through, which will take about 3 1/2 to 4 hours.
Test your steak to make sure it’s tender. Once done, add broccoli and cook, covered, 20 minutes more.
Once done, spoon a few tablespoons of the broth from the slower cooker into a bowl with cornstarch and mix well until cornstarch has “dissolved”. Pour into your slow cooker and gently mix with the beef until combined.
Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. It’s delicious when served over rice.
