HOW TO MAKE SLOW COOKER APPLE DUMP CAKE

Spray your slow cooker or prepare with a slow cooker liner.

Dump out one 20 oz can of apple pie filling.

On top, pour out one bag of yellow cake mix.

Pour a ½ cup (1 stick) of melted butter on top of the cake mix.  (DO NOT MIX INGREDIENTS TOGETHER! Just keep layering them!)

Sprinkle ¼ cup cinnamon sugar over the butter.

Add ½ cup salted caramel chips on top.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 3 ½ – 4 hours or high for 2 hours.

Can you use fresh apples for this slow cooker apple recipe?

You can if you want! Just know that they might have a bit more crunch and juices to them than the canned apples that the recipe calls for.

Does it matter what type of apples you use for your apple recipe?

It honestly doesn’t. Just know that there are a lot of varied apples out there to choose from. Some apples are sweeter than others and will offer a bit milder and tasty crunch. But if you like tart apples, Granny Smith apples can be a great option as well.

Do you need to peel the apples before adding them to the crock pot if you’re going to add fresh apples?

Again, this is up to you. Some people really like the skin of the apples. But if you are going to leave the apple skin on, just make certain that you give them a good scrubbing as well to make certain that they are nice and clean.

If you feel that this dessert is overly sweet, you can cut down on a bit of the added sugar and depend on the sweetness of the apples, instead.

And just like that, dessert is ready and waiting for everyone in your family! It’s so simple, give this slow cooker apple dump cake a try today! Your taste buds will love the taste of warm apple cake!
