Nothing says fall quite like Cracker Barrel Cinnamon Apples. But how many of us have the time or money to go out and eat them all the time? For this reason, a copycat version was created. Now maybe you’re asking yourself if the homemade version tastes as good as the real thing. The answer? No….it tastes WAY better if for no other reason than you know exactly what is going in it.

Have you always thought Cracker Barrel could add more cinnamon to their apples, well now you have the ability to use as much cinnamon as you want? Need to cut back on the sugar? Now you can make a classic dessert low sugar (or even sugar-free). Oh the possibilities are endless! And no matter what you do, once you make these cinnamon apples, your house will be filled what the sweet scent of fall.

Just thinking about the sweetness of the apples mixed with the tangy cinnamon makes my mouth water. And then when I realize that heavenly combination will be warm when it hits my mouth…I just want to drop everything and go make it right now.

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 lbs of apples
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • 2 tbs of cornstarch
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  2. Add the cornstarch and make sure apples are well coated.
  3. Pour in the brown sugar, sugar, and cinnamon, mixing well.
  4. Add butter, lemon juice, and vanilla.  Mix thoroughly.
  5. Place the lid on the slow cooker.
  6. Set slow cooker on high for 2 hours.
  7. Once done stir and serve.

This could quite possibly be the easiest dessert ever. Just a handful of ingredients and a little bit of time and you have a delightful fall recipe you can enjoy in the comfort of your own home, (while wearing Pajamas if you want.) SO what are you waiting for?
